How do seller ratings work

Understanding Order Completion Rate & Seller Ratings on Gumliz

Your seller rating on Gumliz is based on your order completion rate over the past six months.

How the completion rate is calculated:

Completion Rate = (Total Orders - Canceled Orders - Returned Orders) / Total Orders

Example: If you had 75 orders, canceled 3, and had 2 returns:

(75 - 3 - 2) / 75 = 93% completion rate

Star rating based on completion rate:

  • 96% – 100%: ★★★★★

  • 90% – 95%: ★★★★☆

  • 85% – 89%: ★★★☆☆

  • 70% – 84%: ★★☆☆☆

  • Below 70%: ★☆☆☆☆

Sellers with fewer than 1 million listings are required to maintain a minimum 90% completion rate. Falling below this threshold may result in account suspension or permanent closure.

What does not affect your completion rate:

  • Buyer does not want the item

  • Partial refunds

  • Incomplete transactions (e.g., seller-direct payments not received)

  • Buyer cancels before shipping

  • Canceled orders due to rejection of extra charge requests

You may exclude up to 3 orders from your completion rate within any 12-month rolling period.

How to request order exclusion:

To request an order exclusion, email [email protected] with the subject line “Request to Exclude Order from Completion Rate” and include:

  • Order ID

  • Date of order

  • Reason for exclusion

The Gumliz support team will respond within 2 business days.

Low order volume?

If you have 3 or fewer orders during the six-month rating window and one of them is canceled or returned, your default displayed rating will be 4 stars for fairness. Once you have received 4 or more orders, your rating will reflect your actual completion rate. A 100% completion rate always results in a 5-star rating, regardless of total order count.

How to improve your completion rate:

  • Never process refunds outside the Gumliz system

  • Provide accurate descriptions and fulfill orders promptly

  • Communicate clearly and quickly with buyers

⚠️ Any attempt to manipulate refunds or completion rate—such as processing refunds outside the platform or via alternative methods—violates Gumliz policies and may result in disciplinary action.
